With great pleasure, I accepted the invitation to participate and observe for a day alongside the Zelar team during the service titled Assessment Center, organized for their client Paste Băneasa, which had two open roles for the factory they operate: Mechanical Engineer and Process Engineer.
It was an experience that I would describe as extremely well-structured and highly relevant for a recruitment process in the industrial environment. The entire initiative was designed and coordinated by Zelar, and their professionalism and methodological rigor were reflected in every stage of the day.
I particularly appreciated the attention given to logistical organization and the materials prepared for each candidate, which created a clear, coherent, and professional framework. The structure of this assessment center was designed to provide both candidates and the client with a realistic perspective on their mutual compatibility.
During the first part of the day, the elevator pitch component allowed for a quick and relevant understanding of each participant’s profile, as each candidate had one minute to highlight their academic background, practical experience, and previous professional achievements.
This was followed by a presentation of Paste Băneasa as a leader in its market, including its product portfolio and development directions for the coming period.
One of the most anticipated moments was the factory tour, which allowed participants to become directly familiar with the working environment, the technological process, and to interact with team members across various roles.
A strong point of the methodology was the individual exercise “My Start in the Factory,” designed as a mini-project applicable during the first 30 days. This challenge tested not only analytical and strategic thinking skills but also motivation, realism, initiative, and the ability to propose concrete solutions for an industrial context.
The fact that participants could choose an area of interest (packaging, cleaning, communication, workspace organization, safety, etc.) added an additional level of authenticity and relevance to the evaluation process. Presenting the project in a short and structured format provided an excellent framework for observing each candidate’s practical competencies, communication skills, and ability to synthesize information.
From the client’s perspective, I believe the methodology designed by the Zelar team provides Paste Băneasa with an extremely solid tool to evaluate not only technical competencies but also cultural fit, adaptability, and the candidates’ potential impact within a production environment.
The final interviews with the Paste Băneasa management team completed the recruitment process by integrating behavioral observations with the organization’s decision-making perspective.
Overall, this assessment center demonstrated a strategic, structured, and business-oriented approach that brings real value to the recruitment process and positions Zelar as a trusted partner for complex selection projects.
Alin Zaharia’s professionalism in recruitment is reflected not only in the methodological design of this assessment center but also in the way he calibrated each stage to address the client’s real business objectives. His approach is consultative, focused on understanding the organizational context, operational challenges, and the leadership profile required in the industrial environment.
By integrating practical exercises, behavioral observation, and structured dialogue with management, Alin demonstrates a level of professional maturity that goes beyond traditional recruitment and moves closer to a strategic talent selection model.
Zelar stands out through rigor, clarity, and a strong focus on the quality of the recruitment process, not just on the outcome. The way materials are prepared, stages are structured, and the candidate experience is managed reflects an organizational culture oriented toward excellence and respect for all stakeholders involved.
For clients such as Paste Băneasa, this approach means better-grounded recruitment decisions, reduced risk of mismatch, and increased chances of long-term integration and performance of new employees.
With full confidence, I recommend companies seeking a rigorous, modern recruitment process oriented toward real business impact to collaborate with Zelar Recruitment Services.
This day was extremely valuable for me as a communication professional, as it provided a concrete perspective on how communication, organizational culture, and industrial processes intersect in reality within the context of a production factory.
The assessment center service is not merely a selection service; it creates a well-facilitated, authentic, and relevant learning environment. The quality of the methodological design, the professionalism of the coordination, and the attention to detail transformed this experience into a benchmark of best practices, which I consider an example of excellence in recruitment and employer branding.
